The Keeper’s Logo

In 1883, the Lighthouse Board standardized uniform guidelines for all personnel. Principal Keepers distinguished themselves by wearing the Golden "K" embroidered on their lapel.

They will wear on each lapel of sack coat a loop embroidered in gold, 2 1/2-inches long by 3/4-inchwide, the border of the loop to be 1/10-inch broad. If principal keeper – the letter ‘K’ will be worn within the loop.
